I know I'm a little behind in sharing my home all decked out for Christmas but I figured better late than never! I did things a little different this year and I must say this year is probably my favorite so far! I used tons of natural elements with homemade garland and wreaths; and stuck to a color scheme of mainly whites and golds with subtle hints of pink. I think next year I'll add even more pink!
This is the first year we've had the Christmas tree in this corner and I must say I don't understand why we didn't do this sooner! We just moved the furniture that normally sits here to the garage and I brought in the full length mirror from the guest room for a little gold sparkle!
If you don't have a mantel like me, hanging stockings from an old cupboard or hutch can be just as cute! I found the little cotswold village at Annie Selke and I love it so much especially surrounded by fairy lights!
The felt reindeer and felt tree found their home in our entryway/sunroom on top of my French antique cabinet. I found them at Annie Selke as well.
Here are a few photo's I took at night. I just love evenings with the twinkle lights on, candles lit and either Christmas music playing or a Christmas movie playing on the TV.
Fresh garland, a wreath and vintage bottle brush trees on the shelving was all the kitchen needed to make it look Christmas ready.
The view from the kitchen.
I didn't decorate our bedroom this year but I did decorate our office with some Christmas cheer! A simple wreath in an old frame, some gift boxes and a mini tree was all this space needed to look cozy and ready for the season!
I'm already planning for next year's decorating! I hope you have been inspired and that you realize that you don't have to use the traditional colors or decorations!
I have a passion for photography and being creative; whether through painting furniture, doing DIY projects around the house or decorating.
